Spun Aluminum

All BERNDES spun aluminum cookware are manufactured from aluminum rounds consisting of a particularly high-grade aluminum alloy. Here a distinction is made between two different manufacturing processes; stretch-planishing and deep drawing. In the case of stretch-planishing, the aluminum round is stretched over a shaping body. In the deep-drawing process the aluminum round is drawn into shape over a die. In both production processes the rounds are cold formed. The smooth bottom has a thickness of between 3 and 5 mm and distributes the heat in an optimum way. All spun aluminum cookware from BERNDES are suitable for the cooker types gas, coal, electric and glass ceramic cooking zones.

BERNDES spun aluminum products are generally provided with a long-life non-stick surface. As a result, just as in the case of cast aluminum, all of the practical pre-requisites for nourishing, more energy-conscious and easier cuisine are combined in an ingenious way.

Cast Aluminum

For all BERNDES cast aluminum cookware, a particularly high-grade aluminum alloy is melted. The approximately 6 mm thick, perfectly flat BERNDES base® will not warp; in addition, the base has excellent heat conductivity and is perfect for gas, electric or ceramic stovetops.

A top process engineering achievement and specialty of BERNDES is the application of long-lasting non-stick surface on the cast aluminum cookware.

In the combination of cast aluminum and a non-stick surface, all of the practical pre-requisites for nourishing, more energy-conscious and easier cuisine are combined in an ingenious way.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel 18/10 is stainless and corrosion-proof as a result of the addition of chrome and nickel. The chrome/nickel percentage is usually indicated by the manufacturer: stainless steel 18/10 means 18% chrome, 10% nickel.

Utensils made of stainless steel are due to the valuable material usually a little more expensive, but on the other hand have an almost unlimited durability, are acid-resistant, have a neutral odour and taste, are resistant to vibration, impact and abrasion, to temperature fluctuations and particularly easy to care for.
